Create your own watercolour resource book, exploring many watercolour techniques in a sturdy 140 lb watercolour journal provided with this workshop. Your book will be divided into sections for key topics. Fill each chapter with hands-on technique swatches, notes, and visual examples. This personalized book will become your go-to index for creative exploration and growth.

I will have several pieces in the annual anonymous art show "Guess Who" which is a fundraiser for the Richmond Artists Guild for the month of November. The venue is the heritage post office and museum building in Steveston BC, the SW corner of Richmond BC.

Thank you to the staff at the FCA for this wonderful description of this painting In "Morning Coffee with The Cat," Linda Bell, SFCA, captures a quiet moment of domestic companionship. Her bold outlines, flattened perspective, and vibrant palette of teal, saffron, and ochre create warmth and modern energy. The sitter’s calm presence mirrors the cat’s dignified posture, blending stillness with subtle humor. Geometric shapes and softened forms hint at mid-century design, while the simple composition transforms an everyday ritual into a meditation on comfort, connection, and joy. Through clarity and stylization, Bell distills ordinary life into moments that feel timeless and quietly expressive.

A solo exhibition of sixty abstract paintings at the Leamington Art centre.

I will feature my range of paintings from watercolour to alcohol inks. As well, I will feature some of my larger stained glass creations.

What better to represent white light than a painting on black paper? I have one piece in this juried exhibition. Metchosin ArtPod is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4 pm.

18 shuswap artists, all members of Shuswap Artist Collective.

Throughout history, textile-making has required hyper-specific knowledge of local ecologies and climates, utilizing complex techniques that are embodied and preserved across generations through practice. Textiles also hold traditions of community cooperation with plants and animals, from labor-intensive cultivation to the processing of raw fibers into finished products.

Today, we are living in a period rife with insecurity, conflict, and inequality, both locally and globally. This exhibition examines how contemporary textile makers are using their craft to adapt the role of textile as a tool for resilience, knowledge-sharing, and for finding joy in moments of fear and anxiety. Each artist in this exhibition has used textile to capture a small glimpse of our rapidly changing world as it is, bearing testament to the beauty, abundance, and complexity of our time. —Elena Wise, Guest Curator

This exhibition features a number of my geometric compositions, including examples from my Living With Cancer Series; some of my responses to the dire situation our world is in just now; and a few more whimsical, light-hearted pieces to remind us that all is not - and must not be - lost.

For those who might want to know more specifically what was on my mind mind as I created any given painting, a small binder with my comments about the works on display will be available.

This is one of the 3 works I will have in the Art and Parcel Show this year.

I will be part of a group show featuring my original acrylic paintings with other artists. Hope you drop by during the run of this show to see our work.

A selection of my Art Dolls will be on display in the Glenrose Rehab Center, they are in the glass cases near the cafeteria on the basement level. 20% of each sale is donated to the Glenrose Foundation. Be inspired!

The City of Florence has eight Art Exposed locations in the Old Town area: Veterans Memorial Park, River Roasters, Rain Garden, Interpretive Center East, Gazebo Park Plaza, Secret Garden, Maple Street Park, and Florence Area Chamber of Commerce Lawn.

Judith is interested in the potential for interactions between Art and Science. She and partner Mike enthusiastically support the endeavors of the Perimeter Institute, Waterloo, Ontario. Eight of Judith's paintings have been accepted into the Perimeter Institute's art collection and installed in various venues within the Perimeter.

This exciting show has something for everyone. All pieces are 12 x 12 and under. I will be having a lot of new work created with this show in mind. A number or 12 x 3 new work. I will not be bringing them out until this show! This show will also have the clothes line where bagged pieces or art at really great prices will be hanging out

Hello everyone: Planning is underway for the 47th Westman Juried Art Show! Please mark April 26, 2026 on your calendar...the Show will be held at the Killarney United Church Centre. Note that drop-off and pick-up of works in Brandon can be arranged if needed.

REGULATIONS TO REMEMBER:
1. Artists must reside in the Westman Region and be at least 11 years of age as of December 31, 2025.
2. Prizes are restricted to Best in Show, Youth, People’s Choice, and Theme Category Awards.
3. Each artist may enter a maximum of two works, regardless of category.
4. Categories are : Painting-any medium; Fibre Art; Printmaking; Drawing-any medium; Silkscreen; Scratch Art, Mixed Media. All work to be two dimensional.
5. All works submitted to this Juried Show must be original hand-made works of art, completed within the past 12 months. Reference photos must be those of the artist; written permission for use of photos taken by other people must accompany the entry. Works that do not meet these criteria will be disqualified. (If written permission cannot be obtained, do not submit the work.)
6. All entries must comply with Arts West mandates on copyrights, cultural integrity and cultural appropriation (view at www.artswestcouncil.ca).
7. Framing requirements: Adults-all works must be in a solid frame, ready for hanging (includes stretched canvas). Install sturdy hooks and wire on the back, approximately 3 inches below top of frame. Youth- framing not required, all works must be mounted (fixed to a firm support, ie-cardboard backmat).
8. To be eligible for the Travelling Gallery: work must measure no more than 26” by 26” and no less than 11” by 14”, including frame. All works, youth and adult, must be securely framed and wired on the back ready to hang

Painting Trees with Confidence - with Ann Willsie, SFCA.

Trees can be one of the trickiest and most daunting elements to portray in a landscape, yet they are also some of the most essential. Whether they serve as the main focus or play a supporting role, trees bring character, depth and life to your scenes. 

This workshop will guide you in approaching trees with confidence. We'll begin by simplifying their shapes and contours through basic outlines, making them more approachable to paint. You'll work on small, quick studies of tree forms using provided reference photographs and we'll discuss techniques to effectively depict their various features. 

The workshop will help you focus on simplifying tree structures, capturing the unique "gesture" of each tree to convey its essence, and using atmospheric perspective to create depth and realism in your landscapes.
